A Family Support Center is a community-based organization that serves as a one-stop hub of support for families of all backgrounds and circumstances. Rooted in a strengths-based, family-centered approach, Family Support Centers offer services that are responsive to local needs and are typically provided at no or low cost to participants.
At the Ohio County Family Support Center, we put that mission into action every day in Ohio County. Whether a family needs parenting support, help navigating social services, connection to basic needs assistance, or simply a place to belong, we are here. Our goal is simple: to help Ohio County families thrive.
Our programs include:
Circle of Parents - A group for parents, led by parents
24:7 Dad and Tuning into Teens - Evidence-based parenting programs
After school programs: Sparking Success, Wellness Club, and Girls on Fire
Mobility Mentoring - Goal setting, case management
Ready, Set School - A partnership with Elm Grove Elementary and Wheeling Housing Authority designed to increase attendance
Emergency Assistance - For families who participate in our programs, limited emergency assistance is available as funds allow
Family Events - Vary month to month. Limited to families who are enrolled in our program. Some family events will be open to the public as space allows.
Skill building classes - Check our monthly calendar for topics!
Teen Group! - Once per month group for teens to learn life skills like cooking, time management, goal setting, and other important topics!

Family Support Centers (FSC) are warm and welcoming community-based resource hubs where any family with children through high school age or pregnant families can come, not only in times of need but as a regular part of day-to-day life.
